Where Purpose Meets Possibility

A 6th–8th grade microschool in Indianapolis, Indiana where academic rigor, emotional intelligence, and community come together to prepare students for real-world challenges and lifelong learning.

Our Mission

Ascension Leadership Academy bridges academic rigor with emotional intelligence and real-world relevance. Students practice teamwork and independent ownership through structured yet adaptable days that blend indoor and outdoor learning, including nature-based STEM experiences when weather permits. Our community is built on equity, compassion, and curiosity, supported by trauma-informed practices and inclusive routines. We are intentionally creating a space where children are known, families are partners, and learning connects meaningfully to community and purpose.

  • Equity & Compassion in Action — Our daily routines and trauma-informed practices reflect a deep commitment to equity, care, and inclusion.

  • Structured Yet Flexible Days — Students experience a balanced schedule with focused academics, collaborative projects, and space to reflect and adapt.

  • Whole-Child Focus — We intentionally nurture emotional awareness alongside academic growth to support confidence and purpose.

Grounded Daily Rhythms

Each morning begins with a 30-minute grounding block including breath work, gentle movement, and emotional check-ins, and every day closes with reflection, meditation, and guided journaling to build self-awareness and emotional regulation.

Real-World, Hands-On Learning

Students apply rigorous academics through hands-on, inquiry and project-based experiences that integrate STEM, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.

Community-Rooted Partnership

Families are active partners, collaborating on home routines, engaging in service learning, and participating in shared reflection practices and community events where every voice matters.

Meet Our Founder

I never planned to build a school; I planned to help children. My eight years in special education, including teaching within a residential treatment facility for one of the largest districts in the state, changed me. I balanced math, reading, and intensive individualized support, seeing firsthand both the brilliance of my students and the barriers they faced: overcrowded classrooms, overwhelmed teachers, constant disruptions, and decisions made without families.

Those experiences shaped me into a strategist and advocate who believes schools must do better. Ascension Leadership Academy is my answer—a place where children are known, families are partners, and learning is rooted in equity, care, and community.
